Billed as the only clinic of its kind in the state, Florida Hospital’s Trina Hidalgo Heart Care Center in Orlando provides free care to uninsured people suffering from heart conditions.
The clinic, which operates out of a Florida Hospital outpatient heart clinic, treats more than 700 uninsured and Medicaid heart failure and cardiology patients each year, providing free treatment, medication assistance and access to other resources.
The clinic recently marked its 10th anniversary — a decade in which it has treated more than 2,000 people who have made a combined 21,000 visits. Nearly half of the clinic’s patients have heart failure.
The foundation is supported primarily by Florida Hospital and approximately $2 million in private donations provided through the Florida Hospital Foundation. Commercial real estate services giant Cushman & Wakefield gave the clinic $125,000 as a 10th anniversary gift.
