Soles4Souls Acquires Dignity U Wear
Letter from Nicola Barnack, Former President & CEO, Dignity U Wear, announcing the acquisition of Dignity U Wear:
Since 2000, Dignity U Wear has provided free new clothing to those in need. With humble beginnings – distributing new underwear and socks – to most recently serving thousands of recipients with donated, new clothing to restart their lives.
Now, 17 years later, Dignity U Wear has grown substantially and beyond the resources of a small agency. As of July 13, 2017, Dignity U Wear will now be a part of the international non-profit social enterprise Soles4Souls based in Nashville, TN.
Established in 2006, Soles4Souls disrupts the cycle of poverty by creating jobs and providing relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing in the U.S. and around the world. The organization has distributed 30 million pairs of shoes and millions of pieces of clothing in 127 countries and all 50 states in the U.S.
Soles4Souls has a large, global infrastructure for product collection, warehousing and distribution which will help continue the impact of Dignity U Wear in a more efficient way. With similar missions, Soles4Souls has acquired all of Dignity U Wear’s current clothing inventory and assets. All operations, including those for Jacksonville, FL will be handled by Soles4Souls.
