Carrfour CEO advocates for more government funding for Florida housing

Housing advocate Stephanie Berman-Eisenberg stands unquestionably in the do-gooder column. She leads a non-profit that builds housing for those most in need and unable to afford.

Noble aims don’t change business realities, however. The CEO of Carrfour Supportive Housing in Miami sounds very much like a market-rate developer when she talks about the challenges of delivering units.

This year, for example, Carrfour — responding to requests from local governments — is building outside its Miami-Dade home for the first time. It’s been a revelation.
