FAMU-FSU University researcher received $1.4-million federal grant to study how bacteria can remove carcinogens from groundwater

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences grant calls for Youneng Tang to collaborate with researchers at Texas Tech University. 

The process could be an effective tool for cleaning Super Fund sites — areas contaminated by hazardous waste and deemed a priority for cleanup by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
