NASA in 2023: A "game-changing" year is in store says administrator

The successful completion of the Artemis I mission to the moon and back capped off 2022 as an impressive year for NASA. The agency hopes to carry that momentum forward as it looks ahead to the new year. Some milestones on tap for the new year include more missions to the International Space Station and new developments for the Artemis program, as well as science missions, payload deliveries to the surface of the moon, and advancements in the field of supersonic aircraft. More than 50 women sat around a circle inside the St. Petersburg City Theater’s entrance hall on a Friday morning for a meeting of the St. Pete Girl Bosses. The networking group’s communications director Taylor Adams walked into the circle with a microphone in hand, wearing pink earrings that read ‘Screw it. Reedy Creek firefighters back plan for state control of Disney district

The union representing Disney World’s first responders says it supports a plan for the state to take control of the Reedy Creek Improvement District, as district officials publicly acknowledged the proposal by Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Legislature for the first time. “Anything has got to be better than what we currently have,” Tim Stromsnes, communications director of the Reedy Creek Professional Firefighters Local 2117, said in an interview Monday. The ‘world’s biggest Afrobeats festival’ is coming to Miami

Miami, get ready for an Afrobeats take over. The inaugural Afro Nation Festival Miami will take place Memorial Day weekend at loanDepot Park. Burna Boy and Wizkid will headline May 27th and May 28th, respectively, with help from several prominent artists including Rema, Asake and Uncle Waffles. Additional artists are expected to be announced soon, according to Afro Nation. More from the Miami Herald.

$25,000 on the line for top putters in PopStroke Orlando golf tournament

A prize purse totaling $25,000 is on the line for the top putters in a new kind of golf competition at PopStroke Orlando. The high-tech facility opened in Orlando’s Waterford Lakes shopping district last year with 36 holes designed by Tiger Woods’ firm TGR Design, bars, a restaurant, ice cream and games for the kids. PopStroke, which many might think of as a fun tourist outing, is turning its attention to competitive putting.
