› Prominent Sarasota aviation facility flying under new ownership
A new owner is piloting Sarasota-based Dolphin Aviation Inc. now. It was announced March 7 that the longtime aviation services company’s fixed base operator lease and several businesses from its portfolio was acquired by Hawthorne Global. The company did not disclose financial the terms of the transaction. Hawthorne Global, based in New York, is an aviation services company that provides general aviation services and airport management. It's become an FBO acquisition and operating company.

St. Patrick’s Day staples — flowing green beer, steaming plates of corned beef and cabbage, partiers parading down the street, and the sounds of Irish tunes wafting out of bars — will take center stage this month throughout South Florida. While St. Patrick’s Day isn’t officially celebrated until March 17, the fun starts early in Broward and Palm Beach counties, with parades and festivals happening this weekend.

Located among the art studios and galleries at the ArtsXChange, the lab aims to provide a “creative showcase for chefs, virtual restaurants, caterers and foodies.”

› AARP Florida speaking out about nursing home staffing standards
AARP Florida is speaking out about nursing home staffing standards in the Sunshine State. Its new study shows roughly 400,000 people have left the industry between January 2020 and 2022. “For over 20 years, we’ve had minimum staffing standards and attempts to reduce what constitutes nursing care,” said Zayne Smith, AARP Florida’s director of advocacy.
