In January, Jennifer Compton became the first female leader of a national law firm when she was voted chair of the management committee that leads Shumaker. For 25 years Compton has practiced employment law counseling and litigation, primarily representing employers. She grew up in Sarasota and is board chair for The Bay Park Conservancy, which is developing a master plan for 54 acres of city-owned land on the Sarasota Bayfront, seen by many as the single largest undertaking to impact Sarasota for the next 50-100 years.
