Four Florida markets named as 'at risk for home price decline'

A leading real estate data and analytics company has identified several Florida areas as the "top markets at risk of home price decline," including the North Port-Sarasota-Manatee metro area. The monthly CoreLogic Home Price Index uses 45 years of sales data from public records and real estate databases to track the residential real estate market. The most recent report examining May data was released last week showing home prices increased by 1.4% compared to May 2022. [Source: Sarasota Herald-Tribune]

Patronis vows probe of Farmers for dumping 100,000 policyholders

Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis vowed to investigate Farmers Insurance for dropping about 100,000 policies, suggesting that corporate leaders would be dragged before the Legislature next session to answer for their actions. In a scathing news release last week, Patronis laid blame on executives that he said care more about “woke” policies and “virtue signaling” than acting in the best interest of its customers. Step aside, tennis. The pickleball mania is here and it’s propelling homebuilders to rethink what amenities to include in new Central Florida neighborhoods. Jacksonville-based Dream Finders Homes is the latest developer to announce plans to feature pickleball courts in an upcoming project, according to a report in GrowthSpotter. When its 57-lot subdivision opens on 305 acres in Windermere in early 2026, residents will have a place to play the fast-growing sport.

› Pasco approves first portion of massive 4G Ranch housing development
The first portion of residential development on the massive 4G Ranch, which could become a gated community, got the Pasco County Commission vote of approval last week. The western side of the ranch property known for its large estate that has played host to political fundraisers through the years, spans 1,102 acres and is set for 1,500 residences. The housing type wasn’t specified, but developers left open the door for single-family homes, villas or townhomes.
