Florida International University's Board of Trustees elected Trustee Dean Colson, a former chairman of the Board of Governors of the State University System of Florida, as the new chairman of the FIU Board of Trustees.

Colson is a partner at the Coral Gables-based Law Firm Colson Hicks Eidson and previously served as the president of the Dade County Bar Association.
