Miami City Council approves a more pedestrian/bicycle-friendly street design

Last fall, the Miami City Council approved a design to make streets in the 50-block Wynwood arts district more pedestrian-and bicycle-friendly. At the heart of the design are three woonerfs — a type of street, originally developed in the Netherlands, that prioritizes the safety of pedestrians and cyclists, forcing cars to slow down and yield.
