Step Up For Students has been changing lives, one scholarship at a time, since 2002. More than one million scholarships have been delivered to serve students who are most at risk, including lower-income, special needs, bullied, and reading-challenged students.

Education is a critical component to development and when a child has an educational opportunity that truly meets their own individual needs — whether that be a school that best fits them, therapies to help them grow, or after school programs to help them read at grade level — that student is better equipped to progress through school and be college or career ready at graduation.

Step Up’s largest program is funded through generous corporate contributions made possible by the Florida Tax Credit (FTC) Scholarship Program. Donors of this program are investing in a brighter future for lower-income students. Their investments are proven successful: FTC scholarship recipients perform better at school and are more likely to graduate.

Step Up has earned a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator and the Candid Nonprofit Profile Platinum Seal of Transparency. In addition to these accolades, Step Up is ranked 13th on Forbes’ list of America’s Top Charities and 18th on The Chronicle of Philanthropy’s list of America’s Favorite Charities.
