Florida's Fed Voices

New Florida voices are serving on branch boards of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, where their input will help shape monetary policy.

Florida appointees announced this year include Rita Case of Sunrise, Kathleen Cannon of Fort Lauderdale and Jose Cueto of Miami, all appointed to the board of the Miami branch of the Atlanta Fed. New to the Jacksonville branch board is R. Andrew Watts of Jacksonville. Lisa Palmer of Jacksonville was reappointed.

“I was recruited because of my large-volume retail sales in the South Florida area,” says Case, president and CEO of Rick Case Automotive Group, a group of 14 dealerships she built with her late husband, Rick Case.“They know that cars do give them a clear picture into the future.”

Cannon is president and CEO of United Way of Broward County and co-chairs the board of the Prosperity Partnership, an initiative of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance for economic development.

Cueto is president and CEO of International Finance Bank in Miami. He is chair-elect of the Florida Bankers Association.

R. Andrew Watts is executive vice president, CFO and treasurer of insurer Brown & Brown in Daytona Beach, and Lisa Palmer is president and CEO of Regency Centers Corp. in Jacksonville.
