› IAAPA President Hal McEvoy sets retirement
Hal McEvoy, president and CEO of Orlando-based IAAPA, has announced his retirement, which will take effect April 1, 2023. McEvoy joined the trade association as chief financial officer in 2017; he was selected to his current post in October 2018. “Hal has done a tremendous job leading this association through some truly exciting and unprecedented times,” Ken Whiting, IAAPA chairman and president of Whiting’s Foods at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, said.

› Wynwood Urby? Here are details about what likely will rise on old Art by God site
After years of failed tries, Wynwood is slated for an apartment building to rise at the site of the former Art by God novelty retailer. An eight-story project called Wynwood Urby moved forward on Tuesday after receiving unanimous conditional approval from the Wynwood Design Review Committee.

› MOSI names new president/CEO
John Graydon Smith, who formerly lead museums in Troy N.Y. and Reading, Pa, is the new president and CEO of the Museum of Science and Industry. The museum’s board hired Smith after a national search that began last year following the retirement of Julian Mackenzie. Smith agreed to a contract through 2025 and was to be introduced to the staff of the museum, more widely known by the acronym MOSI, Wednesday.

› Space Coast festival brings rock tribute bands to Cocoa
A rock festival on the Space Coast is sure to bring you back to the 70s and 80s this weekend. The Space Coast Tribute Fest is bringing live entertainment to Cocoa Riverfront Park this Saturday and Sunday. Some of the tribute bands include Styx, AC/DC, Boston, Aerosmith, and Kiss.
