Great news for St. Pete, a city that loves its local markets. A new weekly event is debuting this weekend at St. Petersburg High School.

Tampa Bay Markets will host the first Sunday Market St. Pete this week, kicking off a new tradition with a ribbon cutting and performances from the St. Petersburg High School Green Devil Band.

The weekly event will feature roughly 75 vendors selling fresh produce, baked goods and locally made crafts.

“Our goal is to be able to support individuals that have a passion that they’re bringing to the community,” said Greg Barnhill, director of operations for Tampa Bay Markets. “Not everyone has the desire or has the financial means to open up a brick-and-mortar storefront.”
